Charley

Charlie is currently living in Washington.  He is a stray cat who is desparate for help.  His carers sent this about him.

Charley was first spotted around our Drop-in Centre in Concord, Washington, by service-users in May 2009. He was initially extremely flighty & seemed scared of everyone; he was also very thin & had areas of mange on his coat.
Staff began putting out food for him and contacted Feline Friends (and other cat protection agencies). Gillian from Feline Friends loaned us a humane trap and we managed to capture Charley. He was treated for worms & mange and was neutered.
Unfortunately he was seen as being entirely feral & therefore unsuiutable for re-housing; however, since he returned to Concord he's become quite affectionate toward people he knows and even found his meow and purr (he's VERY vocal at times). He hunts birds occasionally and is still independent. He's been inside the Drop-in Centre a few times but always stays near to the door. He enjoys being stroked & petted but dislikes being picked-up.
He's currently living under an old door leant against a wall, he's got some bedding there & seems to be doing OK, I'd just like to see him in a more suitable environment, I'd take him myself but I live alone in a block of flats & wouldn't hear him to let him in.
I think the best setting for him would be in a rural area, a farm would be ideal.
Recently he has been indoors and will use a litter tray, so may be suitable as a pet for a quiet household.
