Respectons

L’association française RESPECTONS a été créée en 1997 par Patrick SACCO, un végétarien engagé dans la protection animale depuis des décennies (il a notamment été un militant très actif contre la vivisection). Avec d’autres amoureux des animaux, il s’occupe d’environ 200 animaux (chats, chiens, brebis, bœufs, chevaux, etc) au Refuge de La Chaume, basé en Bourgogne (Yonne). Le but est de placer dans des foyers accueillants ces animaux qui ont souvent connu l’enfer de la maltraitance, mais certains ne sont pas adoptables et passeront le reste de leur vie au refuge. RESPECTONS intervient localement mais aussi en région parisienne, lorsque des animaux sont en danger. Patrick et son équipe ont également créé un refuge à Belgrade (Serbie), appelé OAZA, où vivent plus de 300 chiens. Tous les animaux de La Chaume et d’Oaza sont stérilisés et tatoués.


The French association RESPECTONS was created in 1997 by Patrick SACCO, a vegetarian long-running animal activist (among other things, he has been a very active militant against vivisection). With other animal lovers, he is taking care of about 200 animals (cats, dogs, ewes, oxen, horses, and so on) in La Chaume rescue, based in Burgundy (Yonne). The aim is to rehome in loving families these animals who often have been awfully illtreated, though some of them are not rehomable and will spend the rest of their lives in the rescue. RESPECTONS acts locally but also in the Paris area, when animals are in danger. Patrick and his team also have created a rescue in Belgrade (Serbia), called OAZA, where more than 300 dogs live. All the animals in La Chaume and Oaza are neutered and tattooed.

In French, RESPECTONS means “Let us respect”.
